Andaman and Nicobar Islands – Explore the Unexplored!!

Anadman & Nicobar
Have you had one of those dreams where you try to find something desperately in a dense forest like area and finally the scene opens out to a whole new fresh paradise? You cannot express how happy you are to be there or let me say metaphorically to ‘find the pearl’ after meticulous efforts . Ya, that is the feeling i am talking about figuratively and emotionally. Andaman and Nicobar Islands, a group of 572 islands off the coast of the Bay of Bengal, is a truly a discovery like the above.
Anadman & NicobarThe islands were initially secluded from the main land and hence they were inaccessible during early times. Later on the Portuguese and the British took over the area and influenced their culture. The islands were used as prison for convicts and war prisoners and hence ended up with a sinister reputation. But the scenario has changed now, the islands of the Andaman and Nicobar are quite known for their lush greenery, pristine beaches and awe inspiring landscapes.
SnorkelingIslands, beaches, museums, monuments, festivals and various adventure activities likes scuba diving, snorkeling etc are the main tourist attractions in the Island.
Jolly Buoy islandThe Jolly Buoy island in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National is an ideal place for snorkeling, sea bathing and basking on the beach. Offering a mind blowing view of the coral and marine life are the Clinique island and the Red Skin island. In the Barren island lies the only active volcano of India.
The Ross Island and theHavelock Islandare famous for their museums and resorts that interest the visitors. The Viper Island turns out to be the typical island you imagine when you picturize harbouring jail convicts in the Andaman. There is also the Saw Island that has one of the biggest and oldest saw mill in Asia.
Corbyn’s Cove TourismThe beaches of the Andamans are home to a variety of fauna like the rare species of turtles- the Green Sea Turtle, the Leather Back Turtle, Olive Ridley Turtle and the Hawksbill Turtle. Water Monitor Lizards and other species of snakes are also available on these islands. The Corbyn’s Cove Tourism Complex is an ideal place to while time lounging amidst blue water fronts and tranquil resorts. The Radhangar and Vijayanagar beaches are the most unpolluted beaches in the whole of the islands where you could spend the whole day watching the blue skies and the clear waters.
Cellular Jail The Cellular Jail in Port Blair is a beautiful yet painful memory of the past. The three storeyed prison has now been declared a National Memorial. It has become a pilgrimage destination for all freedom lovers. The National Memorial Museum is located within the complex, and provides a glimpse into the lives of  the brave freedom fighters who fought for their country but was meted out with cruelty and injustice. The Fisheries Museum is a great place to see marine life while the Anthropological museum highlights rare insights into the lives of the Paleolothic islanders.
BeachesIf you thought the islands of the Andaman and Nicobars are just about beaches and monuments, let me tell you that the descriptions about these places cannot be wrapped in a nutshell. Every part of the island has more to offer. Let it be unexplored virgin beaches or the most sophisticated tourism complex, they all have story to tell. Once you are on these isles, the feeling of freshness and happiness never fades.
