Much of the rich heritage of South India its fascinating history which covers a span of over four thousand years during which the region saw the rise and fall of a number of dynasties and empires.
The period of known history of the region begins in the 1200 BC during which CheraCholaPandya ruled the South Indian country until 14th century A.D. Other dynasties of Satavahana, ChalukyaPallavaRashtrakuta,Kakatiya and Hoysala were at their peak during various periods of history. The various empires and dynasties built a majestic array of temples, palaces and ancient cities, which remain in present times as a testimony to their magnificent vision.
